GLORIFICATION OF VIOLENCE IN INDIAN FILMS SHOCKING

In the present day films, the film makers are portraying violence as an essential element.Owing to this phenomenon,  People in general,and youth in particular, started to think that one would be considered as a hero,if he violently punishes villains,I get disturbed to see that heros are being portrayed as personalities that are against abiding  law & order.What can movie goers learn from this, except emulating these undesirable things and spoiling themselves ? In old films  the leading actors were pious, just and welldispoed , law abiding , and above the board personalities. WHEREAS my observation is,in present time films the personality of male lead is brimming with animosity and aggressiveness, Retaliation as such, has become one of the important personality  traits of male leads.Bizzure outfit, cocksure attitude, spicy jokes towards women and intimidation are some other weapons of heroism,

In the films that were hitting the screens until some two decades ago ,the heros used to win the hearts of their lovers with their outstanding behavior, charity, and with their academic excellence ,Quite contrary to this the present heros are required to kill to win their lovers.What is perplexing is that even the female leads worship the aggression of heros and their violent behavior is cheered by them .

The fragrance of peace ,brotherhood and love must be spread from films.Film makers shouldn't see cinema as a money spinner.They should think it as a medium,to provide inspiring stories for the society 

 

Tirupati Laddu

 After the Karnataka 's Nandi Milk ,it's now the turn of Ex-CM of AP Mr JaganReddy government who has been solely blamedfor adulteration of south famous Sri Venkateshwara swamy Prasad Laddus,by the ruling CM ,CBN.It came as shock to the devotees world over, that substandard ingredients animal fat oil, were used in Laddus,which was confirmed  by Gujarat  based Live stock laboratory, More than Laddu it's political wrangling between CBN& Jagan, which has caused severe damage to the sanctity of prasadamand temple.I think it's clearly proved that whole Laddu prasadam episode has come as " varaprasadam " for both Naidu and PK.Instead of directing the TTD to book the supplier of adulterated Ghee ,Both of them are adulterating sentiments of the people with politics,and no wonder CM leading Shanti pariharam while DCM is performing Deeksha in Guntur,The disunity itself proves that both want to take credit for fighting for devotees.

Primafecie ,I have some doubts , .Why didn't the staff mixing ingredients of Laddus get foul smell during it's preparation if it's mixed with animal fat material? Are there proper checks whether fresh stock is supplied or rejected material is again sent with new tags? What roles are being played by all concerned responsible staff to maintain  quality everyday .

Its also surprising to note and find, that AP Govt took nearly two months to make the lab report public .Moreover it's reported that EO TTD had in his press conference during July this year ,upon receiving the said lab report" disclosed"that the Ghee supplied was adulterated with vegetable oil.But now EOafter CM's press-meet ,changed his statement by toeing the CM's line .Perhaps ruling clique wants to shoot two birds at one shot I.e. character assassination of Jagan inaddition to nailing the previous TTD board .

Now even Central Govt also is saying that it should  be handed over to CBI,but I totally disagree with it, as CBI is a " caged parrot " in the hands of centre as per the averments of the top courts.,and if you go by the statement of Jagan on this episode, says that important persons from BJP' s top brass are also involved in purchasing/ quality matters etc,so CBI' credibility could be compromised. Better a retired HC judge should probe this matter to establish truth 

The Evolution of Rahul Gandhi

IT may be premature to assess Rahul Gandhi' s affectiveness as new leader of the opposition ,but according to many ,including myself,  his initial performance is very promising..After winning the recent LokSabha polls Rahul has been confident and strong both inside and outside the house which is appropriate for an opposition leader.Our great BJP leaders including the top leadership used to mock Rahul as " pappu" and " entitled dynast" staged a remarkable come back in 2024 general election.He became central figure of INDIA alliance that successfully penetrated into BJP stronghold particularly UP,AS heir to renowned Nehru-Gandhi political dynasty Mr Rahul led two nationwide marches ( Bharat jodo etc) against what he termed Modi's politics of hate and fear,revitalizing his party and redefining his own image.

The results of the latest general election significantly boosted his morale, prompting people to view him seriously as leader.Infact he is now recognized as a leader focused on real -life issues- such as unemployment, Women's safety, Manipur violence, NEET Exam paper leaks,rising prices of gas cylinders ,petrol& diesel, caste related issues etc ,Most importantly he is seen as the one who will uphold the spirit of secularism. These factors have collectively reshaped public perception of Rahul .

If you recall ,it's highly commendable that as Leader of the opposition,he posted the following tweet""Winning and loosing happens in life ,I urge every one to refrain from using derogatory language and being nasty towards Smt SmritiIrani or any other leaderfor that matter,Humiliating people is a sign of weakness, not strength " Even if the appeal draws attention of media and public ,every leader including top in BJP needs to follow his appeal ,ITS that a large number of our PM's followers use very abusive language .Whoever is handling PM's social media platform should make sure they are unfollowed.Recently Mrs Smriti Irani also started praising Rahul , Still it's shameful to note the comments of BJP IT cell Chief Amit Malavya,calling Rahul Gandhi's comments as disingenuous  speaks volumes of the mindset of BJP leaders .Rahul Gandhi stood taller by his comments and showed greatness and good gesture.

Rahul's success will depend on his political planning  as he missed some opportunities in past like becoming Minister in MMS cabinet, or strengthening congress party as it's President etc His belief in power of LOP to raise it's voice in parliament gives hope and optimism to the party 

"ONE NATION AND ONE ELECTION "

One nation, one election is key item on BJP's agenda and was a part of it's manifesto for 2024 election Loksabha polls.This idea itself is more a reflection of the BzjP leadership's desperation to assert itself after a series of recent policy reversals due to pressure from a rejuvenated opposition and resistance from it's own allies.But on careful examination I found , except the cost factor,there's no other point worth considering, Simultaneous Elections in diverse and populous country like India raise significant concerns .AS such, election is an opportunity for the people to demonstrate their democratic sanctioned resentment over the policies and programs of the government, People exercising this right to ventilate their agreement or disagreement over the governments in the centre or state shouldn't  be curtailed just to avoid expenses. THE EXPectations of the people beingstate specific in assembly Elections and nation specific in parliament Elections ,there's possibility of either of them getting swayed by the general mood.Possobility of holding Elections in massive way is not practically feasible. HAVE we not seen the inability of ECI

 to hold Elections in few states at one stroke? EVEN today the ECI is not able to hold Elections to Maharashtra along with J&K, HP.Even Elections to the state assmbliesare held in multiple slots.We have also seen Commission rendered helpless to deal properly with violationsreported during last general Elections.

Coalition and subsequent collapse of governments in multipurpose system in India are not uncommon in various states.Under new poll plan ,there could be more political meddling.. Logistics , security concerns and risk of undermining regional issues are critical challenges, Moreover it's generally believed that clubbing of assembly & parliament will put BJP in an advantageous position.For many regional parties this could swell 

disaster as they risk being overshadowed by national dynamics favouring BJP. IN Acountry as diverse as India where regional identities and local issues often play a crucial role in Elections, a unified national election could lead to centralisation of political Power leaving regional voices marginalised.As such, the Union Cabinet's approval for " one nation ," one election"is at best an attempt by BJP to build a narrative for the introduction of Presidential system while the opposition called it as an impractical idea which goes against the federal principles, the constitution, and democracy

Terrorism in J&K

 In the last 2 years nearly more than 50 of brave soldiers lost their lives in encounters with terrorists in J&K . The unending issue of terrorism in Kashmir since independence is not able to be to extinguished  by successive governments and of course BJP is no exception. The emerging pattern is particularly alarming as it flies in the face of the centre’s claim that terror activities have come down since abrogation of Article 370 , ending the special status to J&K . Infact several areas in Jammu have seen a surge in terror strikes since 2021. The Doda  encounter came a week after Kathua tragedy when5 soldiers were killed in an ambush. The Jammu region, known for its peaceful atmosphere has been shaken in the recent months.In an Editorial yesterday “ Terror in J&K : will PM walk the Talk”? was very apt . We recall BJP’s election slogan that POK will be restored in India in six months time after assuming 3.0 charge . Possibility looks bleak and obscure .

Budget -concerns

 Budget -concerns Amidst anticipation of upcoming budget session, national attention now fixed on its contents. India Inc. hopes to retain production incentives while salary earners seek raised exemption limits and improved tax slabs . Common man  eagerly anticipates budgetary relief through increased exemption limits , revised tax slabs and measures to alleviate everyday financial burdens.Expectations include provisions for health care subsidies, travel benefits for senior citizens and incentives supporting livelihood stability reflecting hopes for tangible improvements in qualify of life . Supporters are poised their lists ready , crucial for the Government’s survival. The budget’s essence lies in who gains and by how much from this vulnerable Govt . The genuine tax payers always expect the Govt to announce changes in tax structure and help the common man who can not escape paying income tax and other taxes .He is eagerly looking forward for new tax deductions that would help him plan better future for himself and set the direction of India’s economic journey.  The Supreme court's judgement quashing the order of the Gujrat Govt's order granting permission to 11 rapist-murderers who were sentenced to life imprisonment for their crime in 2002 does two things simultaneously-it exposes the patronage the criminals of the worst order can expect to get in India, and it compels every Indian to remain hopeful about the institutions of democracy. IT also gives people a chance to reassure themselves that fortitude of one person still has space in this country to fight her war and take it to it's logical conclusion.

It's fitting that Mrs Bilkis has got justice and overall the verdict reposes the faith of the people of India still have in the judiciary. AS SUCH Bilkis's tragedy went beyond injustice. SHE was 21 years , pregnant,  gangraped in  front of her three year old  daughter during the Gujarat program in 2002 .IN those clashes Bano's 14of her relatives, including the daughter were murdered as a "" grotesque and diabolical crime driven by commual hatred ""..Of course 11 persons were sentenced to life after prolonged trial in a CBI court  later approved by Gujarat HC.But surprisingly these 11 persons were given remission and freed on 15th Aug 2022 when the nation was celebrating 75th Independence Day .Moreover those given remission were given rousing welcome by VHP, RSS etc as if they were jailed for a good cause .
The top court has asserted the tenets of humanity and equality at a time when these are becoming rare .Though SC's verdict is welcome in this case the bench 's view that convicts suppressed the  material facts to obtain the earlier verdict is bizarre. DID the earlier bench gloss over the moot questions which were raised this time around? ITS CRYSTAL clear that the process at Gujarat HC went awry

Mrs Bano's tragedy went beyond injustice. IT scared the nation's soul and mocked the  's the wounds inflicted on the nation's conscience .However the top court's decision will hopefully heal the wounds inflicted on the nation's conscience
